Following our participation at the ESCAPE 35 conference, the Bioindustry4.0 team at NTUA had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Luis Vaquerizo, Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Valladolid, who specializes in sustainable process design for the decarbonisation of the chemical industry.
Dr. Vaquerizo expressed strong interest in the activities carried out within the Bioindustry4.0 project. During his visit, the IPSEN NTUA team provided focused training on digital and data-driven approaches relevant to low-carbon process design, while Dr. Vaquerizo shared his expertise on sustainability challenges and real-world decarbonisation use cases.
This two-way knowledge exchange helped align Bioindustry4.0 methods with concrete industrial problems and supported potential future joint research and training activities. The visit also highlighted the impact and visibility of the project, showcasing the value of Bioindustry4.0 in connecting academic innovation with real-world industrial applications.
